MPCA manufactures high purity hydrogen peroxide and ammonium hydroxide. The processes are very clean, using only raw hydrogen peroxide and ammonia for production, we generate almost zero waste

o   Off spec material can be re-worked into usable product

o   No restricted chemicals are used or created in the process

o   Off spec ammonium hydroxide can be down-packed into lower grade material, so that there is no waste

o   Practically 100% of the raw materials are consumed in the manufacturing process

o   MPCA has a small carbon footprint

o   In the event that hydrogen peroxide needs to be disposed of, it decomposes into oxygen and water

In addition to an extremely environmentally friendly manufacturing process, MPCA is continuing to look for ways to protect the environment and be good corporate neighbors. Some of these include:

·         Recycling of pallets, drums, paper and plastic to reduce landfill.

o   Recycle wooden pallets by creating new ones using salvageable pieces to build new ones

o   Recycle plastic pallets for grinding and re-use in other plastic goods

o   Shredded and other waste paper can be recycled into other paper goods

o   Plastic goods, such as cups and bottles are routinely recycled for use in other plastic goods

o   In 2011, we expect to recycle 5,000 plastic drums and 1,200 pallets

·         Paper consumption reduction

o   Currently purchase 400,000 sheets of paper per year

o   Regularly scheduled weekly and monthly meetings traditionally have used hard copy reports

o   Converting to electronic presentations will save 9,000 sheets per year

·         Energy efficient materials of construction

o   MPCA is expanding their plant in Mesa, AZ, including the office and laboratory. Materials will be high efficiency to minimize power requirements, even through Arizona’s notoriously hot summers. For instance, power usage for lighting is estimated to be reduced by 15%
